New Britain Recovers
New Britain Recovers represents a new consortium of the many individuals and community resources that provide services in the areas of homelessness, addiction, and youth prevention. We have brought together the City’s Opioid Task Force, Homelessness Plan, and Local Prevention Council under the umbrella of New Britain Recovers, unifying these three previously separate initiatives into an efficient and effective one-stop-shop that can provide a more holistic service approach to community members
Mayor Erin E. Stewart, founder of New Britain Recovers is the youngest and only multi-term female mayor of New Britain, Connecticut, has served since 2013. Known for closing a $30 million deficit and boosting the city’s bond rating, she has overseen substantial economic growth and development, attracting 1,470 new businesses. Stewart has implemented initiatives to address homelessness, addiction, and youth issues, and advanced technological and environmental projects to enhance city efficiency.
MOBILE RESPONSE TEAM
The NB Recovers Mobile Response Team, a collaboration between the Mayor’s Opioid Task Force and New Britain EMS, aims to reduce opioid overdoses by connecting individuals with recovery resources. The team includes trained EMS paramedics and Recovery Care Navigators, who respond to 911 calls and follow up on referrals to provide comprehensive support.
If you or someone you know needs help with substance use, reach out to the NB Recovers Mobile Response Team for essential recovery resources and support.
